IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ALL JUNIOR AND SENIOR PLAYERS:
You may be aware that Cricket Victoria is transitioning the registration and admin functions of all of its associations and competitions from the MyCricket platform to the PlayHQ platform for the upcoming season. This has important ramifications for how you will need to register yourself and/or your children to play cricket during 2023/24.
One of the major changes to be introduced is that all senior and junior participants are required to be registered to East Belmont via the PlayHQ platform prior to playing their first game of the season. While there will be flexibility for players to be selected on a one-off “fill in” basis, all players intending to play on a regular or semi-regular basis will be required to register beforehand in order to be considered for selection. This is something which participants must complete themselves, and while the club will be able to assist you if you run into any issues, we are unable to complete this step for you.
To complete your online registration, please head to PlayHQ:
https://www.playhq.com/cricket-australia/org/east-belmont-cricket-club/4f5a759b/register and select the relevant competition (GCA Men, BWCC Women, Geelong Girls or Geelong Junior Boys) to register to. Junior aged players who also intend on playing senior cricket need only be registered to their respective junior competitions.
Cricket Victoria have provided the attached three-page guide, which contains instructions on registering as a brand new participant (for the purposes of registering for 2023/24, everyone is regarded as a new participant), on creating or linking a Cricket ID (mandatory step in order to register), on linking a pre-existing MyCricket account (optional step to bring across your stats from the MyCricket platform), and on linking the registration of any dependent children to your own PlayHQ account.
Alongside this shift to PlayHQ has come the introduction of an annual National Registration Fee, payable to Cricket Australia when registering via PlayHQ. This fee has been set at $16 for juniors and $22.50 for seniors and provides insurance coverage for all participants for any injury sustained while training or playing during the 2023/24 season. This fee is compulsory and must be paid at the point of registration prior to participating in your first match for the club.
While East Belmont does not receive any portion of the National Registration Fee, we are conscious of the fact that this represents an added cost of participation for our members and have considered our own membership pricing structure accordingly.
We are firmly committed to continuing to offer a high-quality value for money proposition for our members, as evidenced by the fact that all senior and junior membership fees have remained on hold since 2018. We are pleased to confirm that all senior memberships will remain on hold for the upcoming season.
Further, in a show of our commitment to fostering junior participation rates, the club will be partially absorbing the cost of the National Registration Fee for junior participants, with junior membership prices to reduce from $80 to $70, and junior family memberships to reduce from $140 to $120.
The club will continue to offer significant discounts for concession holders, first year members of the club, and members of our strategic partner, AWA Alliance Bank. For a full list of membership pricing options, please refer to the attached listing.
All junior and senior memberships are payable via our TeamApp online store:
https://eastbelmontcricketclub.teamapp.com/clubs/29354/store?_list=v1 or via the app. Members have the flexibility to pay at any time during the season, however with a large volume of cash outflows to meet during the early stages of the season, the club is greatly appreciative of early payment, should you be able to do so.
We strongly encourage all players to complete their registration via PlayHQ at the earliest opportunity, as with the season only four weeks away, we have a limited window to ensure that all of our members are successfully registered to the platform.
